Established in the early 1960's Van Wyk Flowers is engaged in the production and wholesale marketing and retailing of cut flowers within Australia. We operate an extremely efficient delivery service to customers within the Melbourne metropolitan area. We maintain a strong presence at the National Flower Centre. We also service many country and interstate customers. The benefit of our experience in mass market products are available to every Van Wyk Customer.
The Company specialises in the flower production of roses, gerberas, and lissianthus. We also operate an extensive range of seasonal flowers and foliages. Whatever is marketed, the Van Wyk brand is synonymous with quality.
The Head Office and Wholesale Centre is situated in the Melbourne suburb of Lyndhurst on a 43 hectare (108 acre) farm at Lyndhurst. The farm has 6 hectares (15acres) of growing area.
The production nursery is comprised of environmentally controlled glasshouses using fully computerised lighting, venting, heating and fertigation facilities coupled with hydroponically grown flowers. This technology means that all flowers are grown in optimum conditions ensuring a better quality product to the customer. New varieties and colours can be introduced each year from Breeders around the world, which allows us to keep up with changing trends within the market place.
In addition to marketing and selling our own product, the Sales Division buy from other growers to offer a full range of cut flower lines to our customers. We operate fleet of vehicles for delivery to wholesalers and retailers in Melbourne as well as operating from the stands at the National Flower Centre on a daily basis. Each wholesale centre has extensive coolroom, packaging and distribution facilities plus experienced staff who provide quality management of the flowers. Using reliable and efficient freight companies we supply both country and interstate customers.
